Advisory Services
The State Archives has developed a variety of records management and historical records services to help governments, regional organizations, businesses, ethnic and racial groups, libraries, archives and museums respond to the challenge of managing records and making them available.
Local Governments and State Agencies
Knowledgeable, experienced records management and historical records professionals
are based in Albany and in nine regional offices around the state. A Regional
Advisory Officer, who acts as a free consultant, trainer, and technical
advisor to local governments and state agencies, manages each region. Albany-based
staff provide additional expertise on micrographics, electronic records,
and archives management. In addition, the Archives makes grants available
to assist local governments in a variety of projects. You can consult the

Knowledgeable, experienced historical records professionals are based in

Documentary
Heritage Program (DHP). The DHP Regional Archivists provide advice on
locating, organizing, and making available the state's historical records.
Albany-based staff coordinate the regional services and statewide documentation
projects and enhance historical services through the development of workshops
and publications. In addition, the Archives makes grants available to assist
these groups and organizations in a variety of projects. You can consult
