Managing Records: Services for State Agencies: Newsletters
Newsletter: May 2008
Welcome to the May 2008 issue of the New York State Archives’ agency RMO newsletter!
RMO Meeting
State Agency Services held the Annual State Agency RMO meeting yesterday here at the State Archives, with over 110 people in attendance from a wide spectrum of agencies. The speakers covered the topics of e-mail, e-discovery, and what makes for a successful records management program, citing real-world examples from their own agencies. We’d like to thank our speakers -Megan Levine from the Attorney General’s Office, John Cody from CIO/OFT, Phyllis Ann Linker from the Insurance Department, Kim Snyder from the Department of Transportation, and Archives staff including Geof Huth, David Lowry, and Ann Marie Przybyla - for their memorable presentations. We’d also like to thank the attendees for making this event such a success! We look forward to seeing you again next year! Contact Sarah Durling at sdurling@mail.nysed.gov if you would like to obtain an electronic copy of the presentations.
Draft Email Policy
The Archives also released the new draft e-mail policy for comment to agencies at yesterday’s meeting. Ann Marie Przybyla introduced the draft policy, discussing its development at the State Archives and stating her desire for the document to be a constantly evolving product that utilizes agency input. Agencies are requested to return their comments to the Archives by June 16 and can send them directly to Ann Marie at aprzybyl@mail.nysed.gov. Electronic copies of the draft policy can be requested from the Archives by contacting Sarah Durling at sdurling@mail.nysed.gov.
