State Agency Spotlights

Archives Month

October is Archives month in New York State and around the nation. If your agency is doing anything to celebrate archives, please send your information to the New York State Archives on your organization's events. The information will be included in the statewide directory:
http://calendar.nysed.gov/cgi-bin/Calcium.pl?CalendarName=NYSA, that will also be accessible on the American Archives Month site!

For information on events around the country as well as tips for getting the word out on your event, go to: http://www.statearchivists.org/archivesmonth/AAM-directory.htm

Cyber Security Awareness Month

October is also Cyber Security Awareness Month, and this year’s theme is shared awareness. CSCIC has a number of tools available to help you raise awareness within your agency available on its website.

Website Usability Testing

The State Archives will be conducting usability testing on its Managing Records section of the website and is interested in having agency volunteers participate in the process. Volunteers would be required to spend a short period of time testing the website and filling out a short
questionnaire about the experience. If you are interested in participating or have questions about the project please contact Sarah Durling at sdurling@mail.nysed.gov or 518-473-6803.

State Archives Fall Workshops

Seats are still available for our Managing Electronic Records workshop on October 22nd! To register for any of our offerings for State Agencies, please visit our website.
