Managing Records: Services for State Agencies:

Program Wellness

State Agency Services is launching a new records management service called “Program Wellness.” Program Wellness is designed to take a comprehensive view of agency records management programs and find opportunities for improvement. Agencies are first given “check-ups” where State Agency Services staff work with the agency staff, particularly the records management officer, to evaluate their records management program. As part of this step, agencies complete a Program Wellness Checklist. Follow-up steps may include the agency conducting record inventories, creating or updating records retention schedules, developing policies and procedures, implementing good records management practices, training staff about records management, and facilitating changes throughout the organization. To participate or to learn more, contact the Archives at (518) 474-6926 or via e-mail.
