Finding Aids for Records Available on Microfilm through Interlibrary Loan

Microfilm of the records listed below is available from the New York State Archives on interlibrary loan (ILL). Requests for microfilm must be made through a local library (no loans to individuals). Librarians requesting interlibrary loan microfilm from the State Archives may send the request to ARCHILL@mail.nysed.gov or by mail to New York State Archives - ILL, 11A36 Cultural Education Center, Albany, NY 12230.

The Librarian requesting the ILL must provide the following minimum information:

  • Name of requesting institution (loans are made to libraries only, not to individuals)
  • Full mailing address (film is shipped via UPS, which will not deliver to a P.O. box)
  • Phone number (if ordering from outside the U.S., include country code)
  • Email address
  • Name of librarian making the request
  • State Archives record series number and title
  • Roll number(s) (We will loan up to 6 reels, for approximately 4-6 weeks)
  • Name of the researcher for whom the ILL is requested (optional)

Please note that the Archives is not part of the OCLC or the New York State Library interlibrary loan systems so OCLC forms are not accepted. There is no charge by the State Archives for postage, packaging, or handling.

If you have questions, email ARCHILL@mail.nysed.gov or phone the archivist on duty at 518-474-8955.
