    In addition to its collections in Fine Arts, Judaica and archeological artifacts, the Museum maintains the National Jewish Archive of Broadcasting (NJAB) Collection. The NJAB Collection consists of more than 2800 television and radio tapes. The recordings include news reports, documentaries, religious programs and some dramatic and comic programs. Access to the collections is by appointment only, Tuesday- Thursday, 9:30-4:15.

    The Museum's Department of Anthropology maintains the records of Franz Boas, former Curator in the Department of Anthropology. The records include data collected for anthropometric studies of many tribes of North American Indians, Jewish school children, Japanese, some blacks, many immigrants including Italians who entered New York City schools, and a limited amount of data about Bohemians. In addition to anthropometric measurements, other data encompass x-ray photographs of the hands, wrists, and teeth and samples of hair. Data may include information on puberty, and for many immigrant school children, date and place of birth, parents and grandparents, and year family entered United States.

    The Museum of Jewish Heritage - A Living Memorial to the Holocaust, documents Jewish Heritage in the twentieth century. The Museum's collections of more than 2,000 photographs and 800 artifacts document Jewish society and culture in the early 20th century, the realities of the Holocaust, and post-war cultural renewal. The Museum is open Sunday-Wednesday 9-5; Thursday, 9-8; Summer Fridays, 9-5 and closed Saturday, Thanksgiving and Jewish Holidays.

    The collections include manuscript and printed material about New York City families, social life, real estate, and certain features of commercial and service aspects of New York City history. The emphasis is on the turn-of-the-century period, but the entire 19th and 20th centuries are well represented. Access to collections by appointment with Department. Hours of service are Tuesday through Friday 10-4:45. Closed legal holidays.

    The Museum maintains materials related to the history of the Yiddish Theater in New York City. The collection consists of posters, programs, handbills, memorabilia, photographs, books, recordings, correspondence, costumes, props, and clippings. Researchers should contact the Curator of the Theater Collection for information on accessing the collections.
