As more and more business functions are automated, state and local governments seek to address the continuing proliferation of electronic records they are creating and maintaining. At the same time, many governments lack the resources necessary to properly manage the full life cycle of their e-records or to integrate e-records with records in various formats. Electronic document or content management systems (EDMS or ECM), together with other program components, offer a powerful tool with which to achieve this important goal.

The conference will include presentations by both local governments and state agencies of seven EDMS projects in various stages of implementation. The program will begin with an overview of EDMS followed by three concurrent sessions in the morning and afternoon. The program will conclude with a plenary session that will provide an opportunity to share information and raise questions about each of the project presentations.

A registration fee of $25 will cover the cost of lunch, refreshments and handouts.

Sponsored by the New York State Archives Regions 3 and 4 Advisory Committees, State Records Advisory Committee, the New York Association of Local Government Records Officers (NYALGRO), the New York State Association of County Clerks, and the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Library.
