Military Collections - Mexican War, 1846-1848, 1870-1887
In 1870, the State Legislature appropriated funding for surviving veterans of the Mexican War, providing that they could prove their service. This collection consists of petitions, correspondence, affidavits, receipts and printed material concerning the relief of the surviving members of the First Regiment of New York Volunteers who served in the war.
