Alien Deposition of Intent to Become a Citizen of the United States, Patrick Hyland, 1825
I Patrick Hyland late of Clunsast [sic] in Ireland, now of Verona in the county aforesaid, being an alien born under the Allegiance of the King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, being a duly sworn do solemnly depose and say, that I am a resident in and intend always to reside in the United States and to become a citizen thereof as soon as I can be naturalized, and that I have taken such incipient measures as the laws of the United States require to enable me to obtain naturalization.

I Hiram Denio one of the Commissioners appointed by virtue of the act of the Legislature of the State of New York of the 19th of April 1823 authorized to take the acknowledgement and proof of deeds, do certify, that on this 20th day of May A.D. 1825, Patrick Hyland_______ named in the foregoing deposition or affidavit, appeared before me and duly subscribed and made oath to the same.
