The S.S. “Paris” War Memorial by Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney is located at the mouth of Loire River - the landing place of U.S. soldiers during World War I in St. Nazaire, France. The Saint Nazaire Monument, an American memorial, was erected in France in 1926 to remember and commemorate the arrival of American troops in 1917.
