The gap at top center was formerly occupied by 7 World Trade Center. By mid-October, much of the building's debris had been taken to a special processing facility at the Fresh Kills landfill on Staten Island.

Light reflected from the large white tent housing the Fire Department of New York staging area at West and Vesey Streets caused a localized distortion in this image.
