Using information from the preceding documents and your own knowledge of history, write an essay describing the effect that Exclusion Laws had on Chinese laborers who wished to enter the U.S, and what the U.S. government did to try to enforce the laws. Include information specific to the area of Buffalo, New York and tell why geography led to smuggling activities in that area. Your essay should be well-organized and include an introduction, at least three paragraphs, and a conclusion. You must use evidence from five of the seven preceding documents to support your thinking.
