Clemency

Article IV, Section 4 of the state constitution grants the governor power to grant reprieves, commutations, and pardons after conviction, for all offenses except treason and cases of Impeachment. Records in this section document all aspects of the process by which convicted criminals apply for pardons, respites, commutations, and restoration of citizenship, as well as action taken in response by the governor’s office.
