As government moves from a paper world into a world dominated by electronic documents, the need for better ways to manage electronic records becomes more and more urgent. This webinar will examine the PDF/A format, an international standard designed to maintain the look and feel of electronic documents far into the future. We will discuss the features of this format, its limitations, and consider ways in which you can use this format in your archives and records management program today. Since PDF/A can also be a long-term replacement format for paper records, this webinar will also set the way for the release of the State Archives' new imaging production guidelines, which will be released later this year and which will allow, for the first time, the use of PDF/A in imaging applications.
