Archives Management

The New York State Archives is committed to providing standards-based information to help government and non-government custodians of historical records in New York State evaluate and improve their ability to collect, preserve and make historical records available to the public.  This information is divided into topical sections each of which includes a brief introduction to the topic, links to professional standards, and a downloadable assessment worksheet.  In addition, the pages include images, videos, and sample forms that provide real-world examples of how to implement archival standards and best-practices.
